Winter Dream

Orange willows and a fuzzy day
Fields of white where hay once lay,
Sundogs watch on western shore
Winter camps on our back door.

Try and shovel her away
She’ll be back that very day
Try and plow her up the lane
She’ll be back with frozen rain.

Orange willow and a fuzzy day
The sun is coming back our way
Fields of white where hay once lay
How long can winter stay?

Why not rake in long wind rows
A crazy dream to bale the snows
Roll it up in round bale ton
Stack like hay in noon-day sun.

When May’s sun comes shinning
Nothing left but round bale twinning
Only if we could some how
Feed these snow bales to the cows.
